Flexcamp Camping Pod Expands from truck bed or trailer
Now let’s look at a German-based prototype from ICC offroad
Today’s blog will look at the expanding camping pod called the Flexcamp, which can be set up from a truck bed or a trailer.
Now let’s look at a German-based prototype from ICC Offroad. Transforming from a simple box trailer or truck-bed topper into an on-the-go cabin, the FlexCamp has potential!
Demand in the camper scene has led to ICC Offroad designing this expanding compact camper to fill that hole.
And with projects like the Mercedes G-Class mini-RVs to the widely acclaimed Flip90, who is better suited to the task than ICC Offroad?
Aside from transportation, the FlexCamp is independent of any vehicle.
Once you reach your campsite…
When you go on your next getaway, the FlexCamp starts the journey either towing behind your vehicle in a small, boxed trailer form or snugly atop your truck bed.
Once you reach your campsite, and with the help of the automatic system, it expands outward and transforms into a comfortable cabin for a family of four.
This expansion sees the overall height stretch from six and a half feet to over eight feet tall. The overall width increases over one and a half times from eighty to one hundred thirty-one inches, with the length staying the same at ten and a half feet.
Through the process, the interior sees some changes as well. The main double bed is pulled out to the side, which conveniently frees up the multipurpose floor space to access the indoor kitchen and a few drawers and slide-outs from the bed frame.
It has everything you need to cook
Have a gorgeous day at your campsite, and want to cook outside? Well, the kitchen can be attached to the exterior.
It has everything you need to cook some instantly classic meals, including a dual-burner gas stove, a sink, and a 13-gallon refrigerator and freezer.
Courtesy of the Truma Combi furnace and water heater, you can catch a hot shower whenever you please.
The bathroom also includes a pull-out dry toilet stored in the bed frame drawer, which can be accessed from inside or out.
The double-floor cabin design offers critical plumbing and electrical components, as well as sixty-six gallons of storage and almost twenty gallons of water storage.
A square tabletop and a couple of small benches pull out quickly enough to make a dining area.
After you finish your dinner and shower and are ready to turn in for the night, several of the cushioned platforms pull out for a second bed that can sleep two extra campers.
