The Largest Cleanup in History

Coming all the way from the land of windmills and wooden shoes, the Interceptor is the brainchild of The Ocean Cleanup, a Norwegian non-profit organization, and Konecranes, a world-leading group providing lifting equipment.

This aquatic vehicle brings a whole lot of innovation to our polluted rivers and oceans. They aspire to use this autonomous aquatic apparatus to cleanse 90% of floating ocean plastic pollution!

Here's how it works. Its barrier allows the plastic to flow naturally onto the conveyor belt. From there, the debris is chauffeured into the shuttle, which distributes the waste to six dumpsters carrying 11,000 gallons combined. When they are nearly filled, the Interceptor sends a message to local operators to collect the contents.
