Sway Lithium is Reminiscent of a Motocross-Motorcycle Hybrid
Swiss mobility company Micro Mobility
The Sway Lithium electric reverse trike gives off the impression of a high-octane motocross-motorbike hybrid when viewed from the side. If you were to move to the front of the vehicle, you may be fooled into believing you were staring at a quad bike. Sway Motorsports, a startup company located in California, sprang to fame in 2015 after they successfully negotiated a contract with Mark Cuban on the hit television show Shark Tank.
Sway Motorsports launched beta production of its Lithium line, which includes the Sway Lithium and the Sway Lithium Plus, after several years of research and financing for its development. It is possible for riders of the Lithium to lean into their turns when cornering, which activates a proprietary linkage system that tilts both the body and the front wheels in reaction. All made possible by the distinctive design of the Sawy Lithium.
The Sway’s turning radius is far more compact than that of a motorcycle.
This means a smaller turning circle than a motorcycle and significantly better stability on a variety of terrains, such as mud, loose gravel, or frozen sidewalks. Coming to a complete halt without putting your feet down is another advantage. Cyclists with less-than-perfect balance can rest easy.
A big 4.2 kWh Lithium-Ion Battery powers a 6 kW rear PMAC Hub Motor, which has a top speed of 55 miles per hour and a range of 40 miles on a single charge. As of today, the Sway Lithium beta prototypes are available for testing by appointment only at certain locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
